Video Depositions and what they provide.

Make
a statement that isn’t soon forgotten.
A deposition may be videotaped for
several reasons. Maybe a deponent is ill and will not be able to testify at the
time of court. Possibly a professional witness
won’t be available when you need them or you may want to see expressions
from a face that could make a difference in trial. Whatever the reason, it is a
sound business decision, just in case.
A taped deposition will not add that much to your bottom line but could make the difference if you take it to court.
A four hour taped deposition will cost approximately $550 synchronized and ready for editing. That’s pretty cheap insurance considering the primary deponent may suffer some external fate before trial.
Many good attorneys tape 90% of all depositions not only for a backup but also so the deponent can be viewed many times for just the right effect.
Taped depositions also provide a good training ground for up and coming professionals. What better way to teach how it should be said or asked. The video can be played as many times as needed and edited to any specification.
Quality of Video and Sound
For
best results when taping, strict attention must be paid to audio. Many
videographers believe sound is more important than video and that is why we use
the best microphones available. Constant metering is a must for perfect audio
and a natural sounding voice provides a better testimony in court.
Editing is a snap with the provided application. Amptech provides an editor application with every synchronized deposition. We will also edit to your specification or go to trial as an on-the-fly editor.
